Sloan's story was never gonna be normal, everyone knew that. From conception to birth, she was telling the world that she would come on her own terms in her own time.
I've never met two parents more ready and in tune with what their unborn child was trying to tell them. The anticipation of Caitlin's pregnancy held so much grief and hope for this little one's future, that her delivery seemed like a breeze. Even though, by all math and calculations, it was not.
After an exhausting two days, Caitlin opted for a C-section to finally meet her healthy baby girl. Oftentimes mothers think a C-section means the glamour and romance goes away in meeting your child for the first time. I would argue it's the exact opposite. A C-section can be just as magical and emotional as any other way to birth a child.
As an Austin birth photographer, my goal is never to get the shot. It's always to tell the story.
The story of tension, the story of anticipation, the story of new parents waiting anxiously for their little one to come earth side.
